Out of suffering and adversity is borne the greatest of art. The Potteries sprawl across North Staffordshire in a drunken blitz of red brick terraces, derelict kilns and rusty factories. Hidden amongst vintage valve amps in damp basements and faded bedsits, the various members of Rise To Thunder and Space Witch squat under bare light bulbs, like bizarre human toads, plotting to pervert the musical legacy of Stoke On Trent forever.
These leathery old veterans of a thousand bad trips have merged together, in a sweaty and malevolent lump of unwashed hair and anti-social tattoos, to unleash a very particular strain of Potteries-infused psychedelic progressive doom jazz rock upon the rest of the known world. Their grim city has spawned the title of their collective venture: Negatropolis.
From the same soot-blackened towns that gave you Lemmy, Discharge, Slash and Charger, comes a cyclopean sound that is as profoundly mind warping as it is crushingly heavy. This is the sound of Negatropolis Records, an instrumental voyage into the bong melted mind of children in adult bodies who have been reared on a disorientating broth of seventies rock, old skool sci-fi, angry punk, 'Restart' interviews and dodgy fungi, whilst being trapped in a city that the rest of the UK forgot about. ENTER NEGATROPOLIS YOU ANDROIDS AND DISCOVER WHAT IT IS REALLY LIKE TO DETACH YOUR HEAD FROM YOUR WASTED BODY AND TO BOWL IT ACROSS THE UNIVERSE UNTIL IT STRIKES THE SPHERES AND VIBRATES FOR ETERNITY. HA!
